We’ve all read about it, and we’ve suffered from it, but how does the Bible help us overcome imposter syndrome in life and business?
I spent so much of my life/work in the “fake it til you make it” grind, trying to be like someone else, “dressing the part,” etc. that I always felt like an imposter. Compound that with all the ways I was conditioned to show up in corporate life and my MLM business, and it was the perfect storm for imposter syndrome.
Harvard Business Review defines imposter syndrome as a collection of feelings of inadequacy that persist despite evident success. ‘Imposters’ suffer from chronic self-doubt and a sense of intellectual fraudulence that override any feelings of success or external proof of their competence.
You are no imposter, friend. YOU ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP!
Remember that God has positioned and prepared you for your business, and that only HE has the authority to define you as His daughter. Not your achievements, your wardrobe, the stages you stand on or the progress you make. You are His, your business is His, and He wants you walking out this assignment WITH Him, as He defines and directs you.
